I'm what you might call a professional traveler. I've lived in Munich, New York, Sao Paulo, Warsaw and now Washington DC.
I'm also a crime fiction writer with several published novels. I originally started using Poser because I wanted to do character studies, but then, before I knew it, I was hooked. I fell in love with 3D graphics. My interests were initially in doing pictures that focused on the 1920s, but now I love fantasy also.
I can't post as many pictures as I'd like -- I work slowly and don't seem to have much success, but I post when I can and I'm very grateful for all the supportive comments you have given me over the years. I've learned a lot from this community and I continue to be amazed and thrilled with the generosity, creativity and passion I see demonstrated toward one another over and over again.
Thank you!

Very attractive all around! The simplicity of the illustration combines with the treatment you chose to convey a real sense of elegance. I love the subtle differences between the pink dress and her delicate flesh. And the simple outlining of each pearl just adds to that Art Deco elegance. I'm really in love with the muted tones and your choice for a model is inspired (she speaks of a fusion of the mysterious orient and the classic charm of an English drawing room). The one element that doesn't contribute much to the composition is the angle at which the fire intersects with her hands. Whereas everything else speaks of elegance, this part of the image is a little bit clunky because our eyes are naturally drawn to the fire (after savoring her beautiful face, of course) and then there's nothing much going on down there. I can't help but wonder if this illustration would be better served wither by a different angle that would move the fire away from her hands, or by having more yellow in the fire. Of course, now my mind is just wandering around. One thing that does really work well for me is the simplicity of the gray background, which really makes her pop. I also love the little detail of the flowers on the mantle. This is a very effective illustration (LOVE your line work, btw). Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

Wow! Thanks so much for the detailed comments. I've never done "cartoon work," always thought of it as a specialty, but this picture just seemed to call for it. I do love this character. I keep wondering what she's up to, what she's planning. Hmmm ...
