Description
Darth Vader, with his lightsaber drawn, enters the carbonite freezing chamber to confront Luke in the Cloud City on Bespin.
Creation Date: November 27, 2018
Software Tools: Poser 11 Pro, Photoshop CC
This started as just a test render that then took on a life of its own as I played around with it more and more both inside Poser and Photoshop. I mainly wanted to see how well this Darth Vader armor I downloaded worked and it actually works pretty well though it does have some limitations, as I found out while creating this. I saw something similar to this on DeviantArt with the red and blue contrast and tried to create my own version with that color contrast while Darth Vader enters the carbonite freezing chamber on Bespin to confront Luke for the first time. This is my result.
I used a freezing chamber setting by Cybertenko from Renderosity then updated it with my own metal and other materials on almost all surfaces. I used a red ambient material on the steps that would then glow when I rendered with IDL. To create the blue cloudy background I added a simple half cylinder prop behind Vader that I then added a blue cloudy material to with IDL properties and finally dropped the opacity of it down to 75%. I then rendered everything together and finally took it into Photoshop where the rest of the magic happened. I used a plethora of filters and little PS tricks to get the final image you see here.

This just kicks 17 kinds of behind, Lizzie! One of the best Vader renders I've seen in a long time. I can just hear that famous line, "I'm your father, Luke!"
