Description

Came across this extremely rare Elizabethan photo apparently from 'The Kenilworth Eventide Chronicle', dated "Friday, 8th. July, 1575". Our research tells us that this shows the Earl of Leicester getting Kenilworth Castle ready for a 10 day visit by 'Good Queen Bess'. He was making one last attempt to get 'The Virgin Queen' to marry him, but only succeeded in nearly bankrupting himeself! Amazing what you can learn from the internet.

Thanks "linkinpark". Actually, the original render is very 'clean'. We were going for an old sepia, grainy look. Maybe we went to far? VH

With more of a telephoto-type camera the buildings wouldn't converge (unless that's what the photographer was after). They had telephotos then, I believe. You could buy them, three leeches, and some spotted dog on special at the dispensary next to The Grapes of the Savoy.

You quoth right "celestine_babayaro". But, verily, if the photographer had used ye olde telescope he would have been behind the building what doth stand behind him! Ofcourse, thoust didn'st know thus! I do believe ye Elizabethan photos do suffer greatly from converging buildings. Many thanks to all for such gracious words. We are in search of more such images.
