Description

Seated Posing Rules is an example that shows multiple rules for posing a woman seated. I'll start at the bottom and work my way to the top... Feet - bend to an extreme so they lengthen the legs - what woman doesn't want longer legs? Legs - When crossed, have the upper leg towards the camera Hips - never level - have the subject sit on the edge of the char on one butt-cheek Waist - bed it for that hourglass shape Chest - angle the shoulders (her left shoulder is back, the right forward) This will further enhance the hourglass shape Arms - bent with hands poised to look slim Head - head forward to accentuate the neckline. In this case, the head appears to be upright, but because she's leaning, the head is actually tilted. (And, I will admit, if I were doing this shot over, I would light her so her face has some detail/shadows.)
