Man, I haven't heard the term "shiva stick" in an eon! (I stopped doing physical art lonnnnnng ago.) Another intense closeup, again revealing a very intense glimpse into your subject. The eyes, as usual, are very focussed; your shadow around them, and the deep opacity of the eyebrows, make them quite piercing. You sculpt the face to a degree, in the way you apply the shadow lines on its light flesh. And the deep reds of the lips---made more intense by the grimaced pursing of the lips---makes this a person in a heightened state of emotion. Again, you've zeroed in on her (I say "her" because of the lipstick), and she feels like she's pushing her way out of the frame right into our space. Very powerful work, Steve.
