I was part of a small group that was invited to have dinner with the President of The Gambia at his home. After dinner, he said he had some entertainment lined up for us. We went outside and found 300 dancers and drummers ready to perform, which they did until 3 a.m. I was told to go right out among the dancers anywhere I wanted to photograph. The experience was extraordinary, and I got some shots the likes of which I don't suppose I'll ever be able to get again. Yes, the usual Canon with Kodak Gold ASA 200 and my truisty 100-300 telephoto lens. The telephoto might not have been strictlky necessary, but it is always good to use when you don't really want to get right up physically into someone face, but want to do so photographically.
