Amilcar est un ancien constructeur automobile français établi à Saint-Denis. La société, célèbre pour ses voitures sportives légères dans la catégorie des cyclecars, a produit des véhicules de 1921 à 1939. Le nom « Amilcar » vient d'un anagramme imparfait des noms des deux fondateurs : Joseph Lamyet Émile Akar. Amilcar is a former French car manufacturer based in Saint-Denis. The company, famous for its light sports cars in the cyclecar category, produced vehicles from 1921 to 1939. The name "Amilcar" comes from an imperfect anagram of the names of the two founders: Joseph Lamy and Émile Akar.
