Description
1948 and the War slogs on. The Allied and the Axis Powers have fought themselves into a stalemate. Both sides continue their buildup to a final showdown. The American allies have expanded the Lend-Lease program to the British with refitted Lexington class aircraft carriers and the Royal Navy has commissioned two more battle cruisers of the previously extinct Renown class. After the renewed efforts to upgrade pusher type fighters, spurred by Japan's successful Shinden, the new prop types and double units greatly improved their speed and agility. The Royal Navy version of the American P-58 "Stallion", the renamed "Snark" was a dangerous counter to the Axis build-up.
A flight of "Snarks" from the carrier HMS Ever Faithful, fly over the newly commissioned battle cruiser HMS Dominant, of the reinstated Renown class vessels, out and about looking for a tussle.
I'm finally getting some traction with the DazStudio elements to do some decent aviation and naval renders. I like this alternate history one inspired by theschell's alternate history air fighter craft.
HMS Ever Faithful and HMS Dominant: re-textured, renamed, and re-purposed excellent models by AlicefromLake (USS Lexington CV-3 and the HMS Repulse available here on Rendo).
"Snark": cool model "alternate history" aircraft, texture tweaked, F42U "Privateer" by theschell
Models posed in PoserPro and DazStudio; texture modifications, lighting, composition, and rendered in Daz Studio; finished in PS Cs3

Recently surprised to see a photo of a RN carrier with a flight deck full of F4Us, the combined task force used in the Pacific tends to be ignored. Excellent render, impressive scale.

A lot of work and imagination for a great image. Well done!

This certainly is a striking and original render. And it's a treat to see theschell's wonderful concepts in full flight.

That's a great rework of the Corsair, and a great image! Weight limitations aside, with that alternate geometry it seems as though you could have longer range, as there is more room in the wings for fuel since the guns and ammo are no longer there, and the usually relatively empty tail section, now the nose, could be loaded up with more ammo than usually used to fit in the wings. Centerline guns that don't have to fire though the prop arc means easy aiming, little need for high convergence angles and high fire rates. Seems like big win if it could have worked aerodynamically.
