Yup, a clean rag and new soles and they would be as good as new. Very fine shot, Harry. Wonder where you found all these abandoned shoes. Saw once a shot of alot of trash on a street you photographed. Were they from there?

yeah, ala Helle, I also wonder how you manage to find all these shoes...your eye is very keen: I may see these in Chicago, but I walk by them. And then, you probably travel to places where they're more common than others (real photographer's dedication). This is a pretty workable pair, for abandoned shoes. And your background is a wonderful abstract of pebbled concrete and tarred gravel. I love its contrast with the shoes' red, and how the blue tones of the ground match the blue undertones of the shoes. And the shoes are posing for you! A studio portrait, with beat up shoes---another fine study in your epically long abandoned shoe series...
