Description
Now this is a book cover, actually done for my MAX 3 book.
I did it on impression of the August 11, 1999, total eclipse in Germany. In the same year, the nine planets shaped a cross as big as our solar system. You can see it in the picture, too.
P.S.
The publisher didnt like it 'because it was too dark' :-] <*wink>.

Harry, I love it!!! This is gorgeous - with or without stars LOL How did you get the planets to line up so perfectly and still manage to produce those awesome shadows and the flare? - Sacred

It isnt always purposeful having stars in a space pic. In this case I wanted maximum clarity unclouded by unneeded elements, so i decided to have no stars. For example: The cover was meant for MAX 3. You see three main elements - the small moon, the big one and the Earth. You see the LenzFX spheres emanating from the sun towards Earth, mimicking the nine planets, and the anamorphic streak that forms a cross with the LenzFX, right? I cant see where there is place left for stars...

Wow, I didn't know anything about the cross... I birth the 11 of august at 1981, and so I reached the 18 years old in the same moment that ecllipse reached its maxium point... This was, then, the moment when the MIR should have fall over paris, etc... But this picture is more real than the predictions of paco rabanne or nostradamus!
