Description

... still working with long exposure and try to handle it better, this one I did with automatic release - I had 10 seconds to run over the stones and then I needed to stay calm for some seconds, for luck no one have seen me old lady running in the little icy creek, I think I looked strange doing this :-) :-)

wow, you really are stepping in the water in these shots! You must have a lot of balance---those surfaces look slippery! The boots help, I'm sure; and with Jacomina, I love those boots. (3 different textures!) I love this as a selfie: Your legs are dominating, in this shot. And the fairyland around them---the icicles, bright lights, the chiffon-like water, the moss and branches and leaves, etc---make a beautiful backdrop. So you walked in front of your camera...I think it's really cool way to do a selfie! I love this shot. And, again, full size is a must. (I always view full size, but sometimes it totally opens-up the shot: It's required, here, to see all your scintillating detail.) Btw, as for people seeing you run around after setting up your shot, I've been seen in the most ridiculous positions imaginable, at the Lake: And I've been seen---even given a standing ovation---being pummeled by a gigantic wave, as it crushed me after I photographed it. (Do you know how heavy a 4.5 meter wave is? (15 feet?) It's like a house dropping on you. And that water's cold, even in the summer! Once the water went away---leaving me like a pile of slush on the pier---a bunch of photographers gave me an ovation! I smiled, but I wanted to die (I'm almost 70, so I'm not a figure of ballet-like grace, believe me). One of the photographers came to me, later, and said: "You're a true photographer, sir!" Well, that's one way of looking at it...I had to walk home---in the high rise district of chicago, in front of countless people---looking like I just came out of the shower; and wishing that everyone walked the other way. (There isn't much privacy in downtown Chicago, as you know, having been here.) ButI got a good shot, at least. So I understand how you feel, believe me...
