Description
Two years ago, there was an upgrade works of the underground pipes that run under some streets of the town, near my home. These upgrade works lasted almost the whole summer. I had many occasions for observing how it is done. For me, it was much more interesting than observing any sport event; I was as much stressed (this is an understatement) by looking at the workers, than a sports fan who is observing a difficult match between his team and the competitor. These men are working with dangerous tools, between moving huge machinery, in dirty-smelly-unstable mud, having to take uncomfortable positions, under pressure, often in bad weather. How can they survive such dangerous activities without losing a limb of even without being killed; it is almost like seeing soldiers in a war zone. I was in admiration for them.
Note: If I remember well, the yellow pipe carries natural gas under pressure.
Maybe this picture could give creative ideas to some Renderosity artists.

That's a big hole, cool capture.

I really like this shot - the bright colors of the workers' vest and traffic barrels really jumps out from the subdued background colors. Well done.

when my son was employed by a different town, he would have to dip below the water surface to be able to repair leaks. he was fortunate to have not had any accidents. great capture
