Description

Use shape to accentuate shape. To make a thin model look more curvy, I start with the feet and work my way up to the head. When it comes to the hips, I tell the model, "Push that hip towards me." For the waist I tell them to imagine they are wearing a belt and to push that belt buckle forward. Placing one hand on a hip creates that diamond opening to tive the waist shape, and it also draws a line up to the face. I then tell them to lean towards me like they are going to tell me a secret. This causes them to drop the leading shoulder. Then, from behind the camera I use both hands to show them where and how to position their head.
