Description

I just thought I would let you know about prescriptions at the vets. JB has to have allergy pills, at the vets they are £97 for 15 pills, when she is having a flair up she has to have one everyday. So very expensive. Anyway I can get a prescription from the vets which costs me £8 for 6 months. Then on a vet chemist on the net I can get 2 boxes (30 pills) for £86 inc. postage. I also give JB an injection every month, this comes from the Netherlands & this costs me nearly £200 for 10 months. (Cannot get prescription for this.) So if your animals are on expensive drugs, it is a good idea to check out the net but you must make sure they are the same as your vet is prescribing. If I didn't have the girls I could be rich, would I have it any other way, NO, what would I spend my money on, don't smoke, rarely drink, are they worth it YES. Thanks for all the lovely comments & favs, so, so appreciated. x

When folks bring home that cute puppy, cat or whatever species of "pet," too few understand/realize how costly it can become and simply don't have the responsibility "gene" to appropriately care for their "wards." This leads to neglect, physical abuse, abandonment. On the other hand, there simply is no justification for pharmas to charge the often ridiculous prices for their drugs--it is a racket. Unfortunately, too many vets also can't resist the temptation to also overcharge for their services.

Your 'furry" kids have been most fortunate to end up with you as their Mum.

Once again you and Goldie have said it best.

Pets are like children, they come with illnesses and all.

I agree with you, Barbara. One of my dachshunds had Viscotears eye drops, £10 from the vet, plus the prescription, £3 over the counter at the chemist, and then I discovered they were £1 at the Hospital pharmacy! no prescription needed.
