Description
Built from Scratch in Blender.
One of my favorite toys from childhood. My kids played with it for years as well, over 20 years later.

The moon crawler? Yeah, properly maintained (by not leaving in batteries to corrode), I can see it lasting a few decades. But the figures themselves... While a clever adaptation of the wire core "bendy" figure concept (using corrugated joints on an otherwise "realistic" shape) the very nature of their construction meant those wire "bones" would soon snap, leaving one with an astronaut suffering a floppy arm or leg.
But I still loved those dolls and wish they would experience a revival. Alas, action figures have declined in popularity in favor of electronic media and devices. Possibly a limited run for collectors with a whoppin' price to offest the small numbers cast.
Very nice job recreating that funky vehicle!
Sincerely,
Bill

Oh yeah! Astronauts with broken limbs... remember that well... I see they have repair kits for the vintage figs. Wish they were around when I was a kid. Planned obsolescence, I suppose... Thanks for the kind words!

I recognised him without even reading the title! 😁 I never had the Moon Crawler, but I had the Major and his sidekick Sergeant Storm, as well as the green alien. Other than that, very nicely done there.
