Description
Ahh yes, another jewel of alien civilization. The strange and beautiful group consiousness of the hive mind arise to greet another day.
Their cities, made up of huge identical oval buildings, rise a mile high into the sky. Within the great domes, the drone masses work under the mental guidance of their glorious and benevolent queen.
Far away in the capital, ruler of all the queens, the supreme being known only as the overmind broods. For high in space, the great radio array has detected an alien signal from a nearby yellow star. Primitive video signals of a strange and disturbing nature, alien in concept are detected. These signals, made by 'individuals' NOT connected to any group consciousness leave a feeling of dread throughout the city states. Within just a few years, these aliens appear to have stepped on their own moon.
The overlord ponders for a few more years then realizes the time has come.
A great fleet of ships, equipped for both war or peace are assembled in low orbit. Each controlled by three queens, and filled with both scientist, drones and of course, warriors begin their long sublight journey.
The only question to be asked is peace or war? Most likely, the reaction of the race known as humans will decide.
Choose wisely, for the mighty hive, though not a warlike race, will show no mercy to those it has decided are an enemy.
-----
Beta Procyon, just 11 light years from earth is the homeworld of the hivemind. Though huge in the sky, their white dwarf sun is barely larger then earth itself, causing a extremely close and fast orbit. This makes a hivemind year only a few weeks long. Just a short solar distance away, they share their orbit with their F5 companion star.

All modelled in Xfrog. Rendered in Bryce 5. And yes, I cheated. The buildings are from the model I used in lower right on my previous picture. Hate making a 300,000 polygon model just to have it one of many far in the distance.
