Looks like you have the exact same problem I have when trying to uv map an object! Although mine look much worse! LOL! If you ever figure out how to do it, I'd sure like to know. I have been attempting to use blender with no success. Nice looking model. Love to see how it turns out when mapped! I wish you the best of luck!!!!!!
