Description
The pickup swerved in the mud. There was a detonation. Joe thought of a depression in the muffler. It was only by readjusting the rearview mirror that he saw Josie, the smoking rifle, rocking back into the muddy river. There was a big "splash" followed by the "bong" of the fall of the duck on the hood.
