Description
Note: I am playing the mad scientist.
Almost immediately after she had been admitted to the hospital, Mera went through an X-ray Scanner, without the use of iodine nor any other contrast agent; she was, however, injected with a dose of diazepam : an anti-anxiety drug. The scanning, by itself, excluding any preparation and recuperation, lasted 5 long minutes; 5 minutes of X-ray exposure. Dr. Li'i Xi knew that the genes of Mera have very long telomeres; genes with such characteristics are known to be much less sensitive to gene damages, to be slow aging and to provide long life. The doctor wanted a resolution of half-millimeter voxels in her 3D data of her bone density; she gave some mild form of chemotherapy for removing cell debris and abnormal metabolites that was produced by some of the dying cells from the X-ray exposure. From blood and urine samples, no abnormal metabolite was detected after the X-ray exposure; thanks to her long-life telomeres. Dr. Li'i Xi found that the bones of her wings were less dense than what would be expected in her arms; that could explain her more than usual wing injuries, and the fact that her flying performance was deteriorating for a while.
