Description
The goddess Maia appears in many cultures. She is widely regarded as the grandmother of magic and virgin spring goddess, bringing us warmth and growth. In ancient Greece, Maia is known as the oldest of the seven daughters of the Pleione and the Titan Atlas. She is thus one of the seven Pleiades and is also described as a beautiful mountain nymph. On the night of May 1 (Walpurgis Night), she magically transforms nature. She is the all-encompassing Spring, Earth and Growth God, whose fertile power is great.

By far a fabulous composition, what with all the nature and goddess stuff. Just the garden and sky themselves is overwhelming. A favorite indeed. There is also a goddess in Roman mythology associated with Vulcan and also (by confusion with your Maia) with Mercury (Hermes)
