Description

He served 3 tours of duty as a US marine but his return home didn't go very well. His girlfriend had found someone new and his job had been given to someone willing to work for a few dollars less. So he moved out west riding busses and trains until his money ran out. Somewhere in New Mexico he came upon a small town mostly uninhabited and found a deserted store where he decided to get some rest. Sleep was never pleasant anymore because he had horrible nightmares caused by a condition known as PTSD. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He didn't get much rest this day because someone saw him enter the old building and reported him to the police. Now he'll spend some time in jail because he has no job, no money and was caught trespassing. He's one of the lucky ones some say. This should never happen, but it happens all the time in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Excellent... If our government cared as much about the heroes who served this nation as they do about scoring political points against each other and profiteering off special interest maybe it wouldn't!

outstanding scene and situation. he would a a shoe in for wrestling. I have known a few ex-soldiers that had problems from serving in war zones. one man that I use to know was sitting with a buddy in Vietnam. his friend offered some candy bars to a young boy. when he reached out to hand it to him, the kid set off an explosive killing his friend. he lost his mind for a moment and shot and killed the kid. he was in a mental hospital after returning, but finally recovered enough to hold down a job

Sadly the powers-that-be are more concerned with stupid walls and having news-grabbing pissing matches - and scamming more money to line their pockets - than with the men and women who defend this country. No veteran should ever have to live on the street or under a bridge.

A powerful scene, good sir!

In general, I found out at a very early age that if you are poor and homeless, you are utter garbage. In God we Trust, and that god is Money.
