Long-time Electronics Engineering Technician and Draftsman/CAD-man. Doing 3D rendering for fun to enjoy some limited free time when I can.
I enjoy following a lot of artists here and really appreciate feedback and any suggestions on how to make my renders better!
Self-Built i7 8-core liquid-cooled machine running 64-bit OS
upgraded to a GTX 960 from QUADRO 2000
the $$ I saved by only upgrading to the GTX960 went into RAM : Now running 32G (up from 16G)
UPDATE : FEB 2019 : Purchased 2nd GTX 960 to install and run .. let's see how much more my render times go down :)
UPDATE : MAY 2019 : Here are 2 links to my OLD OLD OLD files I recently found and uploaded : http://starfrontiers.com/HouseRules/ (short story work-in-progress .pdf is in upper left corner) and my original WDC IS BEING ATTACKED files : http://www.starfrontiers.com/Rangers/
UPDATE : JAN 2023 : Purchased a single Nvidia RTX 3060 12G to replace both GTX 960s. GREAT Decision! Single GPU allows me to still use the PC and my RAM is down from 32G (MAX) to 7G while the GPU renders within seconds/minutes. I can also use the iRay Quick View as well and still use the PC.

Some of the dancers I am creating to place around the dance floor
much more to come

Looking forward to seeing more and hoping for inspiration for my future endeavors.

Thank you. I have been following my fave's here and learning from them as well. I had purchased Reality 4 and like how it renders some items (glass is the main one), but iRay is still the easiest (yet very intensive at times).

lights added .. tables lit ..
SirRonmit
The "purple" lights will change from RED / ORG-YLW / BLUE / WHT depending on the "order" that was placed. A robot will deliver the requests.
SirRonmit
adding more and more "furniture" to the scene prior to adding a multitude of characters.
SirRonmit
The large blue square in the center is a lit dance floor .. If I ever create an animation, I'll have to have changing lights ever so many frames as characters dance on it.
SirRonmit
I'm thinking the "darker" scene will be during DANCE NIGHTS while leaving the default BRIGHT WHITE may have normal Ops.
Thoughts / Suggestions?

I created a few DROIDS last night and a handful of Male characters.

your lighting is very realistic. that product is from daz? if so just download again
SirRonmit
Thanks, Richard. I did .. but there were no default lights (well it is no longer available from DAZ). I had seen a lot of people in the forums asking about lights. I just figured I'd do it to keep learning more and more :)

Thanks, AnitaLee :) I've been slacking off trying to keep the snow and ice at bay .. I will see if I can get more done this weekend.

Nicely done!

Thank you, IDA! I recently rebuilt a new CAD machine, so I need to move over all my items to complete settings up and publish some renders. For some reason, the DAZ Installation Manager keeps installing, then when I restart, it says it needs to reinstall again .. I gotta track that down so I can get this particular render going :(

After building a new PC, and hiding from the flood waters, I am finally getting around to adding the characters to the scene:
