Description

I dislike Jack-fruit very much. has a bad odor and taste. however for people with very little food, one offers a bounty of fruit inside. they are very heavy and sometimes people are killed when the fruit should happen to fall out of the trees on their heads

its fruit is the largest tree-borne fruit, reaching as much as 55 kg (120 lb) in weight, 90 cm (35 in) in length, and 50 cm (20 in) in diameter. A mature jackfruit tree can produce about 100 to 200 fruits in a year.

I really do not think it's the smart thing to walk under a tree that gives a fruit of those dimensions. Great find and capture!

In the picture, they look like avocado fruits; but as you have described in the comment section, at 50 kg each, they are really huge fruits. This is the first time I am hearing about jackfruits. Interesting!

Just from the name I'd be really hesitant to put it in my mouth.... Not heard of these before...

You find the most interesting stuff to photograph, Richard! 👍
