Description

Something fishy here. Just one of countless shots I took of the beautiful Blue Cavern, a humongous fish tank located at the dark deep end of the entrance hall of the beautiful Aquarium of the Pacific, in beautiful Long Beach, California, on 5/26/2011. The aquarium employs two fully clad divers who periodically enter the tank for various reasons. Sometimes they go up to the glass just to be photographed and give the crowd a thrill. Photography was tricky here because of the low light and rapid movement of the fish.

Yeah, you really caught the diver doing a ballet-like move...he looks like he's actually walking, and talking to that fish in front of him. (Maybe he's feeding it, or caring for it.) He's in the lower half of the shot, so he's in the darker half---which makes him more mysterious, as the light is all above him. And his air bubbles form a rich blue cloud above him. It's really well composed...and you caught the fish that's right above him swimming away on an angle, like it came out of his head. Fine piece of capturing at the right moment, Harry. It's great to see these returning series...

I'll be back for more soon...(I want to give my wishes to Mike, since he survived, and then start my normal day.) I hope this day finds you well...I'll be back for more soon...
