This is a masterpiece! Everything looks like they were originally in this scene--they all work together so well. I like the B&W--it is the right choice for this composition.

with goldie, everything belongs here, it doesn't feel "composed" so much as simply captured. Wonderful job, Barb. I'm only back for a comment this morning, and boy do I love this. You have a way with disparate objects, how you weave them into a single vision. This has avant garde in it, it has play, trickster stuff, it feels like it's from the 50s, and then something out of Alice In Wonderland, and then from a 1960s indie film, and just a lot of humor and great formal interplay. The black beads and lower portion of the glass, the black on the lady, the whites on the perfume bottle with the many grays; the cat's face on that brooch, and on the woman, her dance pose, and just the feeling of a fairy tale character walking in a huge model from real life all make this a visual feast. Terrific work, Barb! A real abstract playful black and white tableaux...I remember some stunning monotonal work in your early gallery: You have a real feel for boldness in black and white.
