Description
At first, thank you for the nice comments, likes and Favourits to my last Image: The Fate laught with pointy Teeth - Madame Linda.
It means a lot to me!
Ragnor has been in the Ludus from Dominus for five years. One day he notices that Musab, the slave driver, is busily walking up and down the stairs. This is the sleazy quack, who also looks after the fighters. (Except Ragnor, because as far as he gets to his wounds, he prefers to sew and cure himself. For wounds he can not get to, he prefers to let Rado, with whom he has an agreement, keep his back free for the little Boy, and Rado informs and helps Ragnor.)
Ragnor asks Musab what's up with Dominus. Musab says Dominus is sick. Ragnor asks if he can go to Dominus. Musab disappears without a word and comes back a little later and nods towards the stairs.
The room is dark and Dominus looks thin, pale and sick. He almost coughs his soul out of his body.
He asks why Ragnor came.
"I want to know if your word is valid beyond your death," Ragnor asks.
"Of course I stand by my word, I have everything in writing, but no reason to kill me now!" Dominus grins. "But it's going to end with me anyway."
"You will live on, but you should get a doctor from the Order of Michaeler and not this greasy guy who does not even wash his hands in vinegar when he touches the sick," Ragnor grumbled.
"When will I be free? How long do I have to fight with others for money?" Ragnor wanted to know.
"If I survive the summer, you're free, I intend to organize a big fight in the summer in Xanten, and you'll be free if you survive this fight," promises Dominus.
"Well, I would have a clause ..." Ragnor explains to Dominus what it's all about.
The older laughs and wonders why his slave demands so much. However, he agrees because he has almost fatherly feelings for Ragnor.

I hope he is good to his word and that he lives to the Summer. Maybe Ragnor should bring the better doctor before Musab kills him.
