And hysterical weeping was heard the world over. My beloved rendering computer had a failure of its liquid cooling. It didn't gush out all over the place, but it may as well have, as the pump failed, and the CPU overheated. I replaced the pump, which required dealing with specialty parts, and the like, to no avail, it turned out that the overheating had been a one time and fatal event, which took the motherboard with it. So now I am reduced to a painfully slow laptop that can barely handle a webpage. So I shall be gone for a while.
In the immortal words of the Doctor, "One Day, I shall return, Yes I shall return." Until then I hope to catch up on everyone's fantastic images, between load times.

OWWWWW! I hate it when that happens....
None of my systems are liquid cooled - I've always had serious reservations about that..
Hopefully you'll be back in operation sooner than later.

Computers can be replaced but data cannot, so I hope you had a backup of your wonderful work.

Don't worry about it, it happened to me a lot of times, it's annoying and it always costs a lot of money and above all good nerves to fix everything up again - Good luck that the box will run again soon!

My old G5 (2005) had a liquid cooling system - which failed; got a replacement cooling section. Still in working order, though not used as much nowadays; I have an iMac for the daily work.
