Well, me and my bright ideas :) I have decided to paint a lot more, I really need the practice. I think I've come as far as I can with 3D for the moment. I just bought the Ergo stand for the Cintiq 24 Pro, it's working out much better for positioning while painting on it. Veeery costly, but worth it.
Instead of painting the Princess Irulan picture, I decided on this one, Wizard Tor. It is a bit more exciting, perhaps. This will be "work in progress" for quite a while. I'll try to get it right before signing off on it. Although this is "stage 2" stage 1 was was much the same, but without the background detail start.
I'll probably post an update to this each day as I progress. I thank you for your patience, in advance :)
Any suggestions, feel free.

Never tried painting, would not know where to begin. Looks simply stunning my friend.

Cheers, eekdog, a fair ways to go with this one though :)

i gotta chuckle... i'm just starting to get back into 3D a little bit instead of painting more [other than for my own amusement, mind you], so we are moving in opposite, yet similar, directions. i do wish you a great journey as you explore this part of yourself, and i will definitely be curious to watch as permitted. i've always been exceptionally more drawn in by a more 2D/painterly type of art than 3D. truly exciting, and excited for you!

Thanks, Giana ): I used to draw and paint a bit, bit I let my skills fall by the wayside. For a long time... I did try to paint when I first started into 3D but it was just far quicker to 3D everything. To get to the level I really want I think painting is the way to go. Although the 3D stuff I produce is ok, it's a bit "meh" compared to some of the real pro's. I'll learn a lot (I hope) by trying out painted images.
