Description

There's usually a story when I stray from modeling and rendering birds and with my latest project, there's no exception. Doing some renders with my shorebirds and waterfowl I found that there was an issue. In doing an image with birds fishing, it's likely that at least one would have a fish in it's bill. That in turn created a need for me to do some small "feeder" fish. I decided on the trio of Anchovies, Herring and Sardines-- all popular with sea birds, as well as some humans. In doing the fish, I thought it might be fun to include one of those fish tin with the old-fashioned roll-back key, so another model was added to the list. Okay I admit it-- I wanted to have fun with the "Red Herring" fish tin label. It's impossible to read the fine print on the tin but it says "Caught wild by trained pelicans in the waters of the Pacific". Will I do more fish? Well I haven't done a "Holy Mackerel" tin yet... I'm just saying. Yes, I sort of have an odd sense of humor. Rendered in Iray with minor post work (enhancement to the foreground sand). Models include Nerd3D's "Waves at the Beach", my "SBRM Waterfowl 2: Sea and Diving Ducks" (Lesser & Greater Scaup, Redhead and a Ruddy Duck) and my "NW Fish".

Excellent and interesting......those old fashioned cans are very popular in Portugal where there are shops specialising in selling them with a vast array of ornate artwork designs.
