Description

This is Hugh Harrison from my Black Kat series. This guy started off in 3Delight in DAZ. Took me forever to get him into Iray, which I used for my last book cover. I've never been happy with the conversions for him, his skin seems a bit blown out. I thought I'd try him in Superfly, didn't like that version either. Was surprised that he looks pretty good in Firefly + my normal postwork flow in Photoshop. I think this is the best his skin has looked in all the four different render engines. In the end, I really don't care what engine or software I use, as long as the result ends up looking good. So I keep playing, learning, pushing the limits to see what I can squeeze out of them all. DSON is a PITA though. His teeth and tongue didn't want to follow him in any pose and stuck out like some Alien movie. I finally got rid of them by messing in the material room to make them invisible. Would love to know the real fix for that one. Otherwise, I'm happy with it! The dress textures looks great. If the texture does not look proper, you can always tweak the texture. It is easy enough to do. In Daz, just open the Surfaces panel and play around with the diffuse strength and other settings on each of the skin surface. In most cases if it appears to be blown, just reduce the diffuse strength and render.

He looks great! I actually prefer Firefly renders, esp. for fantasy/illustration type renders like this. BTW, you can set up a Genesis figure for Poser that doesn't use DSON. It's been a while since I did it, but I think all it involved was basically exporting Genesis from DAZ as a CR2. I'm sure you can find more details via Google!
