I don't know what it is, but this together with your "through shadows" gives me some wonderful creepy Lucio Fulci vibes (cause Fulci did not only splatter gore like a pro, he managed to create really weird and creepy scenes in his movies, and I consider myself not even a real fan of Fulci).

It's also scary cause when I was a kid, my Dad had eyes like this... and I am on my best way towards the same state.
