Thank you for the use of your city photo, Mark, you called it drab but I think differently. Thank you for being a wonderful friend.
Thanks for looking and maybe commenting, everyone. I appreciate it!

Happy upcoming birthday Mark, 21st. Wow! Most excellent use of his photo, I might need to get his permission also. Most well done mood with the figures and lighting.

i had physical therapy monday, and couldn't even look at my email. I got up today, saw your note, and came right here: Wow, Barb, I mean wow, I had no idea you were gonna do something for me...and I love what you did with my image. Mine is all gray and depressed (well that's how it looks to me at least---it was worse in person!), but you made this a bronze-glow early evening scene from a novel, with this woman in an amazing gown, looking into the distance as if she's waiting for someone, and she's got a fur and I think gloves like she's from Russia, like a scene from a play by Chekov...and a beautiful full-mane collie, waiting with her. And what you did to my desolate icy beach: You made it a private yard, with those old lanterns, and a stairwell right out of the 19th C...you know, there are stairs down to the lake and river, here, that look very much like this stairwell: It was an uncanny choice. And you turned the pier into a kind of fence; and the skyline into a bronze-hued early evening vision, w/ the light that author Dino Buzzati called the 'genius time of evening'. (And you added your signature birds...) I love it. Thank you! You made my birthday week get off to a great start! I'll never know how you made this 19th C scene work seamlessly with as 20th C a skyline as there is, but it's organic as it comes. Beautiful, Barb, and ditto to your thoughts, and thank you so much for this!
