A slavebot cannot either taste or smell anything. She cannot eat nor drink anything anyway. She can, however, detect carbon monoxide, corrosive fumes, smoke. She can, however, simulate chewing. She can also put an empty soup spoon in her mouth, close her mouth then remove the spoon as if she is taking soup. She can simulate drinking from a straw, or with a special glass of water (a theater prop) she can simulate drinking water. Nothing should be "consumed" except a few drops of rain water, by accident. Only air may penetrate her body through her mouth and/or nose. In this picture, Oulieva is performing an Eating-Out play. Slavebots have been trained to simulate eating specified types of fake foods made of soft plastic type material and to simulate drinking from an empty cup. That simplifies the type of training Vlad has to give to Oulieva on how to behave in a restaurant and how to detect cues for proper action. Vlad is carrying a soft plastic panini with 2 bites eaten from it; this is what Oulieva is holding in her hands. Vlad order 2 sandwiches for him and 2 coffees. Once he has drunk his cup of coffee, he exchanges his empty cup with the cup of coffee that has been served to Oulieva. At the same time, he will pick the real panini being served to Oulieva for himself.
