If you're moving these for your shooting, you have an uncanny sense of contrasts: The dark blacks and bright reds are perfect foil for that gritty (gray) concrete. And in both shots, the shoes are perfectly centered. The top is so strange: It seems pretty healthy, and yet depleted at the same time---with a remnant of a shoelace holding on for dear life! Man, what do people DO to these shoes??? And the bottom shot almost looks like something carved out of chalk (!), except for the bright red patches. I gotta look around Chicago to see if there are shoes like this, because I haven't seen anywhere near what you've seen. It's amazing how many you spot out of the din of city life, and then make art out of. I love this pair of shots.
