Bound for the steps to the cafeteria no doubt, captured way back on 12/5/2005, at the beautiful Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden in beautiful Arcadia, California.

The juxtaposition of this regal bird with that plain concrete setting is striking: The bird really stands out. Yes, maybe he's seeking food...but he seems like he strayed away from the royal procession and is lost in a back alley...wonderful juxtaposition between regal bird and commonplace outdoor stairs...
