Hey this is to theguy. Why don't you shut your f'n mouth and go suck on a monkeys nipple,I don't see any 3d work let alone lightwave work in your gallery m8. Hey hybridsoul keep working on your lightwave skills and forget about what that asshole said. And anyway truespace uses the same rendering system as lightwave so he is talking a load of crap. Alright i think your main problem is texturing here is the technique i use to texture my models. If you want to texture the wings goto your modeller select the wings and hide unselected then expand your front veiw port, hit (shift) (A) to fit selection and now hit (alt)(printscreen) to grab your current screen. Now go into photoshop or paintshop pro and create a new file which will automatically change to the correct size. Now paste your grabbed screen and flatten image.make sur you crop your image right to the edge of your wireframe. You now have a template to work on. create a new layer and fill it with a base colour then take your layer transparency and take it down a little until you can just see your template.save the work you have done so far. Now draw your colour texture onto your new layer and use the template as a guide, spending time on this stage is very important. Every time you finish a map restore the layer opacity to 100% and flatten image then save as an .iff or tiff something that lightwave can load in that has non lossey compression. You can now use the colour map as a guide for diffuse, specular bump and transparency maps. Once you have completed the textures load them into lightwave, go into your surfaces and apply a colour map. so click the T button next to the colour panel. you should now have a window where it lets you apply diffrent types of projection maps and procedurals. Select the planar map projection, select or load your colour map in. when you have done this and assuming you cropped the image correctly you should have a colour textre map that fits perfectly when you click on the z axis button and then automatic sizing. Do this to the rest of the channels you want to map and then set up your test renders. Hope this helps you out because you can just about use this method to texture any object that is mainly flat or if you just want to texture one side of an object you can even texture the monster. Anyway I may have over complicated my little tutorial but I'am not a writer I'am an artist so i kinda suck at writing them. :D Nick

taking this as a single image, you might want to play with the focal settings.
