Description

Here is a synthetic image of the dwarf planet « Pluto » that I built with « Vue Infinite 2016 » and data from the probe « New Horizons ». « Pluto » is an object of the « Kuiper Belt » and orbits around a barycenter with its main satellite « Charon ». Both bodies have diameters of 2372 km and 1207 km. Four other small satellites complete the system and orbit, thus, around the couple « Pluto / Charon », it is about « Styx », « Nix », « Kerberos » and « Hydra ». The surface shows several large areas or geological features including : the « Tombaugh » region, nicknamed the « Heart », a large clear zone over 2000 km wide covered with carbon monoxide ice.
