As the sign says: "Two men enter, one man leaves". I'm not sure how a ref would do anything with this type of winner take all competition. LOL
This was a very frustrating image. It took several hours to set up, feet would not set on the ground, dozens of "not responding" messages that lasted many minutes each often after some very minor adjustment to anything including finger posing or expressions. I don't remember how many times I had to redo the render, but it wasn't worth the effort. Thankfully I kept saving after every tiny detail change because the program crashed twice.
DS has a lot of issues and DAZ has never once helped me resolve anything. I have many products I bought from them that don't work properly. Some don't work at all and crash the app. If poser would have kept up I never would have started using DS. Ugh!

This looks good. I can feel your frustration. I think what you may be facing is a disk / memory issue. Are you still on a hard disk ? You may want to switch it into a SSD. It will speed up everything and you will probably get less of the not responding messages. I do spend hours on posing a scene. That definitely is the frustrating part with 3D. Specially posing hands and feet. I do hope things get better for you. If making artwork is not an enjoyable process then sooner or later one might stop making it.
Btw. for posing I use the Active Pose tool a lot. I use that to get the rough pose I want. It can help you lock bones so that they are not affected by push and pull of other bones. Once I get the basic pose that way, I then refine it. It does take some getting used to.

Thanks for the hints and suggestions, I agree with you completely!

Two men enter but only one of them gets a special tour of her bedroom =) All I can say is... a true artist never blames his tools. I have DS installed also... the rendering time really kills it for me not to mention the picky hardware requirements, I can't afford to lose that much time for one render when I only have a couple hours in the weekend to render something... maybe when I retire... if I ever retire =/ Great scene, love your monster characters, they always crack me up.

How much RAM do you have? DAZ Studio has a very poor performance in any system where memory is tight, and nowadays I only use Poser for my figures because of the frequency with which Studio crashes on my Mac. The windows version is a lot more stable and Studio has the better user interface by far but it still has issues that Poser really does not have. Like when Poser runs out of memory I get an error message and the chance to save my scene, quit and reload. When DAZ Studio ran out of memory I would just get dumped back to the desktop, no error message just Studio crashed and gone.
And yes, customer service at DAZ nowadays is a joke and it is sad because it was once the best in the Poser/Studio world.
I hope you do continue get some fun out of 3D, it is sad when someone loses a hobby as stimulating as this one can be.

I have 12 GIG of RAM so I don't feel this is the issue. I sometimes open task manager (it might take 10 minutes for it to open while using DS), and it shows that my DISK is at 99 or 100 percent. With nothing else open and minimal use elsewhere, it's DS using all the capacity of my Disk. I hate rendering in sections or parts in one program such as Poser and others in DS, but I often don't have a choice. And DAZ doesn't deserve anyone's business, when a person who has bought thousands of their products can't get help ever for anything they sell. I have over a dozen of their products that don't work or worse... Thanks for your help!

I like the lighting and the lady is quite striking. If I were her, I'd just go get a drink and come back to cart the bodies out.

Lovely scene! I have the same problem with some products I bought and sometimes it is hard to find a tutorial on You Tube. But You made a great work with composition!
