Description

“You wouldn’t last long amongst the drow,” Myst jested with a bitter edge in her voice. “I’ll take that as a complement,” Mykal retorted with a roguish grin; allowing his eyes to roam down her lithesome form, drinking in the ample amount of bared skin revealed by her skimpy garb. Then he reluctantly tore his attention away and to the pouch at his side, fishing out a cloth wrapped bundle and a skin. “Just water and trail rations, I’m afraid,” he informed her with almost sincere humility as he handed them to her, “but it’ll have to do until we reach Tangled Trees.” Her stomached growled with anticipation as she gratefully unwrapped the cloth bundle finding a small loaf of fine grain bread spiraled with nuts and dried fruit inside, hungrily tearing off a piece and devouring it. Having survived most of her life on scraps, what he called trail rations seemed more like a banquet. Moaning and rolling her eyes in delight, she feasted on her first real meal in longer than she could remember. “What is this?” she asked between bites as she all but inhaled the loaf. She noticed his eyes roaming over her figure; being all too familiar with such interest from many male drow, almost all of their orc and goblin minions… and more than a few drow matrons… as well as how to use it to her advantage. “Elven bread,” he replied with clear amusement as he watched her consume it, quite literally, like a starving man, then observed with more than a touch of humor; “One slice is usually enough for a meal.” She only paused for a moment, eyeing him with mock embarrassment and a coy smile, before continuing to wolf down the remainder of the loaf. “We’ll need to get an early start if we’re going to make Tangled Trees by sunset,” he advised as he fished a small black stone carving of a wolf from his pouch, setting it by the tent door, and said; “Guenhyvar wolf.” Instantly the figurine was replaced by a large black wolf, who turned intelligent blue eyes toward Myst. “It’s alright boy… she’s a friend,” Mykal reassured the wolf while affectionately rubbing behind his ears. “He’s a magical construction, but one of my most trusted companions,” he explained without looking back at half-drow, then commanded the wolf; “Guard.” Guenhyvar quickly sat directly in front of the tent door, poised and focused. Then Mykal turned back to Myst only to be frozen in shock by the sight before him; the gorgeous half-drow laying naked on his bedroll. While his attention was focused on the wolf, she had stripped out of her brief garb. “What are you doing?” he asked in a stunned voice, while his hungry eyes devoured her every delightful curve. “Isn’t this what you want? Isn’t it why you’re helping me?” she replied with a meek tone, a resigned expression masking her gorgeous features as she tentatively raised her pearly eyes to meet his.
