In the history of Europe, the Middle Ages (or medieval period) lasted from the 5th to the 15th century. It began with the fall of the Western Roman Empire and merged into the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery. Did you know that the lyrics to the folk song "Greensleeves" are attributed to Henry VIII? Greensleeves is not a band, Steve. It is an English folk song from the Medieval period. Henry VIII ruled during the Medieval period and it is thought he is the author of the song's lyrics.
