Story / Description :
The story continues from the previous render...
The commander of the special rapid response team of the Corporation screamed over the encrypted comms at his team on the ground - “What are you morons doing ? How did you let that blonde girl pass through the secure zone without even stopping her and asking her for ID ? And why the hell are you all looking at her instead of getting on with securing the site ?“
X4 (All members had IDs. No one was allowed to use real names) - “She is harmless sir. She is a college student here”
Commander - “Really, did you check her college ID ?”
X4 - “aaaaahh…. Nope…”
Commander – “And X73 what were you thinking waving at her ?“
X73 – “Sir, she was really very cute. I would love to meet her for a date.”
Commander screaming – “What ? She is cute ? You want to date her ? What the hell you are talking about ? Get all of your freaking acts together ! If one more passes through the secured zone I will personally come there and shoot all of you.”
X1 - “Sorry sir, we don’t know what came over all of us. That will not happen again. We are ready to breach and secure the premises”
Miho could only smile at what she was hearing. She was already listening in on their encrypted comms. Breaking into the heavily encrypted comms was child’s play for Miho. She knew she had an effect on everyone, but that guy waving at her when he was supposed to be securing that area, was just plain odd. She just rolled her eyes.
Commander – “Get on with it ! And make sure no photos of this ops appear on the internet or the news.”
X54 - “We have that covered sir. We have hacked all mobile towers, landline telephone exchanges, cable and fiber wires networks around this area. Any attempt to upload any images or videos will automatically be deleted during transmission. Also, we have sent a special signal to all mobile phones here that will drain their battery in seconds. It is good no one uses videocams anymore”.
Commander – “Everything needs to be secured and all systems needs to be backed up on that special device you have been given. Once completed, take it back to the secured location you have been given. Also remember to trigger the self-destruct”. (The Corporation, never used compromised sites again)
X54 - “Yes Sir.”
What Miho was doing here was basically based on data identified from the brain scan of the old man who part of the board of the Corporation she had found this sleepy and old part of town was actually a major covert site for intelligence gathering for the Corporation. She knew the systems inside were air gaped and contained top secret information for the Corporation. She knew (because of the brain scan data ) that if there was any kind of security issue at that site, they would send someone to backup the systems and take that to another secure location.
Her idea was simple, instead of attacking the site and dealing with all sorts of unknowns, she would simply trigger that security alert, wait for the response team to arrive and then once the team had taken the backup and were on their way to the secured location, intercept them with her hyperplane and take this extremely valuable backup off the hands of the response team. And well, everything was working as per plan. She had introduced a gas into ventilation system of the premises,. which though was harmless was specifically designed to trigger the air verifier on the site. The old man had designed this site from scratch and she had seen what air verifier he had selected.
Once the gas was detected, the site had gone into automatic lockdown and an alarm triggered to the rapid response team which was actually stationed 4 blocks away. They had reached the site in under 3 minutes. Miho was actually impressed with their speed of response and she was a bit shocked to see the full body armor the team was wearing which looked to be of extremely sophisticated design given current state of body armors that did not fully protect the wearer. They had come in black unmarked armored vehicles but with flashing police lights which also meant these guys were confident enough that if they actually encountered police, the Corporations connections would take care of things. They would probably appear to be from some government agency.
Miho could have easily avoided this area but she wanted to see the rapid response team in action and so she happily walked into side street they were supposed to have secured. Though she had been impressed with their speed of response, she found it odd none of them actually stopped her and asked her for an ID. Yes, she knew she had effect on everyone but these were professionals and were in a high security operation. She did see they had stopped a girl from coming out of a building but all of them had ignored her as though she just belonged there. She smiled. It was good for her. She just had to walk over to the other road and cross it. Next to it there was a park where overhead I was waiting for her in the invisible hyper plane. Miho told me over the comms that she was almost there and to get ready to take off.
The story will continue with the next render...
About this render :
This scene started with simply Miho walking down the street and then well as I started to think about the story I wanted to write and started adding characters on the scene, it got complicated real fast :). But I was amazed it rendered in 18 minutes @ 4K.
I am trying a different lighting here. This one is mainly lit by an HDRI. Generally my daylight scene lighting is the Octane daylight environment with a HDRI skymap set which I think given me a lot more control over the deepness of shadows etc. But anyway I wanted to see how a pure HDRI lighting will look.
I am also testing a newly created textures for Miho and tweaks to her custom skin shader. You can really start to see detail like in the knee areas and hands. You can also see the highlights are broken by the unevenness of the skin surface. In my older test render under pure HDRI environment, Miho's skin never looked good and that was one of the reason I never used pure HDRI environments. But finally I have managed to tweak my custom shaders enough that it now looks good in Octane daylight, pure HDRI as well as under Octane lights like in my previous render 'The Scan'.
This is another set that though beautifully crafted, the textures that came with it were crappy. The sidewalk on this had a blurry texture and the way it was set, there was no way to put a new texture and tile it unless I opened it in Surface Painter to paint a completely new sidewalk. No time for that. So I did some Photoshop editing of the texture to blur it a bit more to remove almost all roughness / details and then darkened it such that it becomes less of an eye sore. The green metal barriers have custom materials to make them actually look metallic. Even the wooden drum and crate has modified textures to make them look better. The sci-fi suits also have modified materials. And though not very apparent, the window on the shop (left side), I removed the original non transparent black window with actual specular glass material that allowed one to look inside. Also did some masking on it so that the original dirt on the window could be display on top of the glass material.
This as you can see if a fairly heavy scene. It had more than 1000 textures in total. To be able to render such scenes with less problems, I generally start with a set and once I have decided on a view, I delete away all the object / buildings etc that are outside the camera view. This lightens the memory and resource requirements of the scene. Another thing I do is remove all textures that are hidden by other items / clothing. E.g. I removed the torso / legs / arms textures of each of the character in the sci-fi suit. That too reduces the memory requirements of the scene. The other thing I did to optimize this scene was to set all the sci-fi suits to use the same common texture (this is something which can be done every easily in Octane - in fact it is one of my favorite features of Octane). That again reduced the memory requirements of this scene. These are some things that you can do when you want to add more characters into your scenes.
Though the top Miho is wearing is a dForce one. Could not get it to simulate properly. So did the draping of it around the strap of the bag in ZBrush.
I am providing two views of the same scene. One is a closeup of Miho because I think she is looking rather beautiful in that black top and short and the other which is the actual full scene. Do look at it at full size. It is pretty big and will allow you to see the details.
One last thing, I want to thank Mike for the correction regarding the 'diameter' in my story for the 'Get Three!' render. He correctly pointed out it should have been circumference. Thanks Mike :) !
PS (29th April 2019) : I have update this render and uploaded it again. Had been working on Miho's custom shader for the past couple of days and I think she is looking even better with this new customer shader..

So easy for a lovely gal to manipulate the weaker sex :) Great renders to accompany your entertaining story.
I really like your Miho--she looks wholesome and not like most of the 3D female models that either have overly (and grotesquely) exaggerated secondary gender features or so thin that they look like they've just finished 10 years in a prison work camp. Nice shapely and sturdy legs :)

Be careful MIho, curiosity kills the cat !!! 18 mn did you say ? My goodness ! on my PC it would take hours...

Looks wonderful your work paid dividends one of a number of reasons I prefer vue over Daz is cue seems to handle memory requirements better than a scene in vue can use 10'S of thousands of grass plants from quixel with 4k textures with ease yet Daz starts to struggle with just a few thousands.
rajib
Yup. I wish Daz could handle things like Vue. If Vue and Otoy ever came together to make a Octane plugin for Vue, I will totally switch to Vue. I think the scenes I really want to create needs Vue. Daz is still pretty limited and with the Daz Octane plugin there is all sorts of instancing issues which is needed to create environments.
