Hydakeen is the official capital of the League of Suns, a confederation with 8 member worlds located roughly 75 parsecs from Terra. When Hydakeen was first settled in 3192 it was a religious colony of the Kolobite Church. Over time it has since evolved into a constitutional republic with a high degree of religious freedom, although practicing Kolobites still make up a large majority of the population. In the background of the picture you can see the base of the orbital beanstalk (also called a space elevator), located in Templeton, the largest city on the planet. The beanstalk was erected in 3417 by a development company that overestimated the amount of trade the world could attract and went bankrupt as a result. The beanstalk was very nearly shut down before being taken over by another company, which has been able to operate it at a modest profit. The city of Gateway, which serves as Hydakeen's primary starport, sits in geostationary orbit at the top of the beanstalk.
