Description
These guys are seriously tough...these guys could open your 4WD up like a tin of dog food if they wanted too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rhinos once roamed many places throughout Eurasia and Africa and were known to early Europeans who depicted them in cave paintings. At the beginning of the 20th century, 500,000 rhinos roamed Africa and Asia. But today very few rhinos survive outside national parks and reserves due to persistent poaching and habitat loss over many decades. Two species of rhino in Asia—Javan and Sumatran—are critically endangered. A subspecies of the Java rhino was declared extinct in Vietnam in 2011. A small population of the Java rhino still clings for survival on the Indonesian island of Java. Successful conservation efforts have helped the third Asian species, the greater one-horned (or Indian) rhino, to increase in number. Their status was changed from Endangered to Vulnerable, but the species is still poached for its horn.
As usual, the FULL SIZED image is best.

Nice shot... Rinos are amazing creatures. It would be sad to lose them.

I enjoy seeing them as well as hippos. great capture. I would not ever hunt them or any animal. back when I was working clients would ask me to hang heads of exotic animals. they were so proud of taking the animal's life. I did it to make a living, not for enjoyment

Great big brothers! I allways say to mi students " If you can't create an ant, you have not right to kill one". I hope they listen.

Merci pour le partage, et dire qu'il y a des malfrats qui rentre dans les parcs animaliers pour les tuer pour leur corne, même là ils sont persécutés

Nice shot! Poaching is a big problem in South Africa. Even in protected areas like National Parks. It is so sad.
