Description
Captured 4/14/2008.
Allium is a genus of monocotyledonous flowering plants that includes hundreds of species, including the cultivated onion, garlic, scallion, shallot, leek, and chives. The generic name Allium is the Latin word for garlic, and the type species for the genus is Allium sativum which means "cultivated garlic."

I'm glad you told us about the buds, because when I first saw this, I immediately thought of cream cheese and chives. The colors are perfect for them. Wonderful bud-filled shots, with the feeling of a very crowded bloom, and wonderful strong light. The top one has light that nearly eats up the colors. And the bottom one has more contrast between light and shadow (and it has more yellow too). Lovely packed shots with lots of eye popping light.
