Description
Since tomorrow is the running of the Indianapolis 500, I remembered a low-poly Oldsmobile I had retextured about 10 years ago into an Indy Pace car. It was one of my early attempts with graphic textures. I 'force fitted' my V4 Hurst dress onto a G8F character I dialed up to somewhat resemble Linda.
This image is inspired by Linda Vaughan, Miss Hurst Golden Shifter. Linda Vaughan was a natural genetic anomaly, and THE Hurst Shifter girl and always seen at the Indy. If you wanted the best clean, positive, fast 4-speed shift in the 1960's or '70's, you would buy a Hurst shifter. You might buy this product in part because Linda Vaughan was hypnotically beautiful, and in part because the shifter worked beautifully, and was relatively easy to install.

Thank you. I hoped to properly honor the moment in time, and Linda. There are a few images both in BW and color which depict the pose and outfit.

Excellent pic and background on Miss Vaughan. I'm surprised I haven't heard of her until now. She would have given Farah Fawcett a run for men's hearts back then!

Saw it. Amazing end to the race. Simon Pagenaud had a great month; including his birthday.

Saw her in the late 60's at our local drag strip standing in the back of a white w/gold trim 442 convertible holding onto a giant Hurst Shifter!

Thanks for looking and commenting. Iām glad it brought back a memory. I started a scene with her standing on the trunk of a ā71 Hurst Chrysler 300, holding onto a giant shifter. I should revisit that project.
