Description

"At the end of our lives, we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made or how many great things we have done. We will be judged by, "I was hungry and you gave me to eat. I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless and you took me in." Hungry not only for bread--but for love. Naked not only for clothing--but naked of human dignity and respect. Homeless not only for want of a room of bricks--but homeless because of rejection. This is Christ in distressing disquise. Mother Teresa, 1987 I was thinking today of all the myriad of things we give thanks for...our family, our friends, our homes, food to eat, our piece of mind... on and on the list goes... and then I began to focus on those people who had given so much of theirselves and their time to benefit "us." My mind fell on Mother Teresa. I hope you like the sketch and are as blessed by her life as I have been. The sketch was done is .3 and .5 mm mechanical pencil with some postwork done in PSP7 and Corel. The Corner Angels, Rose and Frame along with the background were done in PSP7. Finishing touches were done in Corel! The sketch was referenced from a combination of photos by Michael Collopy. Enjoy...Cheryl

This is a beautiful sketch of a beautiful person. Were she still on earth she would smile for your easel, and is smiling now. You created a wonderful tribute, this is a lovely portrait! Mother Teresa, as you so well described, is the one person who's life has mirrored Christ's life and deeds more than anyone i can think of living or dead. We should all try to follow her example of a Christ like life as much as is humanly possible. God bless you for this uplifting and spirtual work of art.

Wonderfully done Cheryl, those etched lines and rare smile and gentle eyes seem to captivate the very soul of this saintly person who through her work was such an example to all humanity, perhaps something to bear in mind during these troubled times!

I have always admired so utterly this lady, little angel, for her size, but an immense one for the power of her love. The way you portraited her is amazing. Fantastic job, and such a wonderful inspiratinal series of words as well :)

I don't know why people think there is anyone waiting at the end to judge us. The only time you will ever be judged is while you are here on this earth. There is no one waiting to judge you at the end. Judging is a human thing. WE MADE IT UP PEOPLE! We are the judges. Just like when you come here and judge people's art. Don't you get it?

Everyone has a right to there opinion. You have the right to voice it here along with everyone else. I am curious though...why does this bother you so much? I believe there will be judgement and whether you believe it or not will not change that fact, but judgement was not the emphasis of this piece. If you had read fully what I had written above, you would have noticed that it was a tribute to people who have left a lasting benefit to humanity. Whatever else comes out of this sketch...that still is the emphasis...Cheryl
