a changeup pitch, as they say in baseball...a deep chrome-like space, behind this strangely beautiful figure in the center, who has branches coming out of it. The 'creature' itself is a metallic-colored thing, like sheets of the aurora borealis hiding in a bush (in winter, since it has no leaves). The gesture is simple; the forms are complex but contained, and the sense of infinite space around it makes it a kind of visual haiku. Fine delicate work, Steve. And a real change of pace from the pieces before it.
