Hailey is having a restless night in the guest room of the Sailmaker’s Arms. Some time about midnight she thinks she hears a motorcycle pull up and stop. After a couple of minutes she gets out of bed and looks out the window and sees a man sitting on the quay leaning against a rowboat and looking out to sea. After a minute she goes back to bed. We can recognize Lochan. Hailey was told of his relationship with Leslie but has never seen him. So what brings Lochan to Old Quayside in the middle of the night? Does he know that Leslie is sleeping in the captain’s house? He might suspect it. (I have been trying for some time to produce realistic night time lighting. The scene is dim but if you look carefully you can see most of what is there except in the shadows.) Thanks for looking.
