Description
_______ ...do as Romans do, of course !...This is what is left of the imposing film sets for the 'Rome' British-American-Italian television series, here in Cinecittà studios,on the outskirts of Rome. The series was shot and released back in 2005,and was a tremendous success. The first season depicts Julius Caesar's civil war of 49 BC against the traditionalist conservative faction in the Roman Senate , his rise to dictatorship over Rome, and his fall, spanning the time from the end of his Gallic Wars (52 BC) until his assassination on 15 March 44 BC.A second season was released, with a total of 22 episodes for the two of them.
________I was also very much impressed by Cinecittà Studios founded during the Fascist era before WWII,and I was even totally mistaken, thinking, before my visit to the studios, that they were today nothing but a museum...Cinecittà is not only booming and producing blockbusters even today, but they also opened a theme park and their studios have taken to the digital evolution of animation movies and special effects, just like Dreamworks in the USA.
________This photo is dedicated to you, Virginie, as your roots come from this extraordinary beautiful country that I am utterly unforgivable not to have visited earlier ! As you know, France and Italy are so far away from each other, for the traveller I am !!!
_______Thank you so much for your comments on my former winter photo, taken in the Vosges mountains...I have been away from the site for professional reasons, and yet missed my friends there a lot...Have a nice weekend! Zoom in for details!

Ah ! Karma !

France and Italy are not far away. They share a frontier. I was very often at that frontier, Liguria and Cote d'Azur... ;-) Very nice picture.

Like the classical feel. The only things missing would be a few gentlemen in togas walking around. :)
