Description
Hi,
I'm testing out a new method (for me at least) of creating a forest without eating up the system resources too bad.
Created a row of trees in Bryce with a blue background. Exported as image, and created a mask in Corel Paint. Dropped the original image on a Single sided plane primitive and mapped the mask to teh transparency channel. Save as material. Applied the material to two more single sided primitives, that I placed in depth. And here it is. Le tme know what you all think.
Know I need to clean the edges a bit yet, but otherwise I think it looks ok. Renders very fast.

Good job. Looks good.

You did a nice job, though I would suggest some more trees behind the character and some in front of the camera, as this, IMHO, does not really look like a forest to me... ^^;; But I get your point about the technique used and you did well at that! Keep it up and good luck! Ferdi.

Not bad, although the trees look like they're standing on tiptoe (tiproot?). I'd recommend increasing the number and variety of 2D trees, leaving them in the background, and adding a few hero trees (detailed 3D meshes) to the foreground for closeups.
